Michel Donath

Michel Donath joined Rochat & Partners in January 2004. Having spent nine years with the financial daily l’Agefi in Zurich, he brings a broad experience in financial and economic journalism on an international level. More specifically he focused in the fields of biotechnology, medical technology and pharmaceuticals as well as food industry, banking and finance. His work included interviews of CEOs from companies like Gucci, Siemens or Credit Suisse Group. He also developed strong connections with spin-offs from the Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich.

 

After a Bachelor degree and a Master degree in international relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Michel started his professional career at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was then asked to be in charge of international relations at the Israeli PTT. In both positions, he was able to fully express his skills in communication and diplomacy.

 

 Just after the fall of the Berlin wall, Michel Donath started working in the watch industry building up commercial networks for Swiss brand names like Baume & Mercier in Eastern Europe. In 1993, he joined an international foreign bank well established in Geneva, where he concentrated on macroeconomic and foreign currency analysis.

 

As former spokesman for Carrefour Suisse, he is a real media relations expert in all three linguistic regions of Switzerland: German, French and Italian.

 

Born in the USA, having lived in Paris, Bern, Geneva and Jerusalem, married with a Danish, now established in Zurich, he is fluent in English, French, German, Swiss German and Hebrew.

 

Michel has been a passionate swimmer for the last 30 years and also enjoys volley-ball. His hobbies include reading books and watching movies.
